Yard Dog Trials
Tas Yard Dog Association will be holding Trials on Saturday Morning at 8.00am at this year's Scottsdale Show.

Mr Shaggles Circus World
Mr Shaggles Circus World is an interactive circus performance where the audience becomes the show. Mr Shaggles uses puppetry, clowning, juggling, acro-balance and magic to direct, cajole and encourage his audience to join in.
You will find Mr Shaggle on the Hockey Field at

Dog High Jump Competition -
Tamar Rural Youth
Just a brief description about the competition from Amber, President Tamar Rural Youth.
There are 3 Categories, Small dogs (30cm and under), Medium Dogs (31cm to 50cm) and Large Dogs (51cm and over). The dog high jump is beginner friendly for both the dogs and the handlers/owners. Even if you don't think your dog will jump it, we highly encourage people to join and try it out. It is always the people that don't think their dog will jump that actually wins the event.
Entry fee is $10.00. If you enter more than one dog, it is an extra $5.00 per dog.
Tamar Rural Youth will have lots of volunteers available to assist handlers/owners during the event and also with the process.

Lynden and his team will be located at the Stadium on Friday 3.00pm -9.00pm
and Saturday on the Hockey Field between 9.00am - 3.00pm.

A favourite attraction for the children at our Show is face painting. This is free. The talented Sam and Tracey will be at the Show on the Netball Courts.

Island Kelpies
At Island Kelpies we are a small, family run Kelpie Stud based in Cressy Tasmania. We focus on breeding and training strong, all round working dogs to suit our mixed prime lamb, beef and stud Angus operation. Our team of dogs allow us to work independently to complete multiple tasks simultaneously without the need for extra employees.
On Saturday only, throughout the day, Island Kelpies will have a 30 minutes demonstration and talk about their dogs and how they work.
A must see, great family entertainment.

Serpentarium Wildlife Park
Discover and Learn
Come along and meet the team from Serpentarium. They will be displaying a large captive bred Carpet Python and also will offer Keeper Presentation on both days. A photobooth will be available to patrons wishing to have an interpersonal keeper assisted handling experience, with your own personal photographer, including professionally edited prints emailed. (At your own expense). View snake skins, books on reptiles and touch and feel fossilized Dinosaur poop called Coprolite, over 145 million years old. Animal Nursery - Sponsored by Greenham Tasmania

Our Animal Nursery is a special place to visit for the whole family. You can interact with the cute baby animals and see how amazing nature can be. In the nursery there will be calves, guinea pigs, goats, ducklings and lots more and of course, our Chicken Breeders will be showing off their best birds and Rabbits.
Pet Parade-This is not just for children, the Society has added an Adult Class making it more fun for the whole family. The Pet Parade will be held on Saturday morning outside the Animal Nursery staring at 10.30am. No need to have an entry form, just came along and register beforehand. A great way to show off and be proud of your beloved pet.
Please Note: The Nursery will be open early on both days but will be closing around 8.00pm so the stewards can attend to the animals. Sorry to cause any inconveniences.
The Scottsdale Show offers lots more to see and do.
- Eddie Freeman will be creating a chainsaw masterpiece for us all to watch and see how it is done. Silent auction will be held during the show to bid for one of his sculptures, visit the Show Office for more details. Come along and check out Eddie at work, you will be amazed. Friday only from 9am to 2.00pm.

- Family Entertainment over the two days of the Show- Where's Wally, Maze, Potato Throwing and Pie Eating Comp.
- Face Painting will be free to patrons on both days in the Stadium.
- Rural Ambassador 2024. Judging to take place shortly.
- New name changes and classes have been added to our favourite event at the Show. Rural Show Boy 6-12 years, and Junior Rural Ambassador 13-18 years which is open to all teenagers. Master Rural Tot and other classes will be held on Saturday in the Football Club Rooms starting at 11.30am sponsored by Bridestowe Lavender Estate. Register on Saturday morning between 10.15am - 11.00am at the show office. Judging at 11.30am

- On Saturday, there will be Yard Dog Trails starting early in the morning. Sponsored by The Roach Family.

- Chopping on Saturday with a full program. Sponsored by the Kettle Family.
- There will be a variety of trade stalls for you to purchase that special gift and sample the famous show food we all enjoy and love.
- Scottsdale Show Equestrian events will be held on both days and these events are known to be one of the best in the state.
- Our two Pavilions will house; Home crafts, Arts and Crafts, Photography and Trade so there will be heaps to look at from the wonderful blooms of the North East to gifted cooks, talented needle workers and of course our inspired artists and photographers.
- And don't forget about our Stock Classes - Cattle Handlers, Dairy, Beef and Prime Cattle and Lamb, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs and Poultry.
